Use of Thermal Refugia by Salmonids in the North Fork Coeur d'Alene River of IdahoThis project sought to understand use of side-channel habitat as thermal refugia by westslope cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, and mountain whitefish in the North Fork Coeur d'Alene River of northern Idaho. We described temporal phenology of side channel use during summer as river temperatures increased, and used logistic regression to determine how reach-level habitat features affected use of side channels as thermal refugia.
